Parks and Recreation approves Red Sox event and pickleball socials.

Avon Parks and Recreation unanimously backs Red Sox family day and pickleball events. The committee approved purchase of 40 Red Sox tickets for September 7 and allocated $150 per pickleball social event funded by program sign-ups, with Chair Chapman and Commissioners Belvin, Fischer, and Hart voting in favor. The board also greenlit a $650 mascot event featuring Wally on July 13, waived field fees for an AMHS soccer tournament May 18-21, and approved summer 2026 counselor guidelines for submission to the Select Board and legal counsel.

Director Christina Green is exploring PARC grants with the town planner following May 12 playground inspections.
