Parks and Recreation approves prior minutes, welcomes new director.

Avon Parks and Recreation approved prior minutes and conducted introductory discussions with new Park and Recreation Director Christina Green, who began February 2. Chairperson Ben Chapman and Commissioners Belvin and Fischer attended; Commissioner Hart was absent. The committee continues to seek a playground inspection vendor and is planning summer programming running Monday through Friday for incoming first graders through students entering ninth grade.

Commissioner Belvin will connect Director Green with a community member who proposed a summer lunch program; the committee also discussed field maintenance coordination with the Department of Public Works, counselor orientation and CPR training, and school facility use in meetings with the Superintendent and principals.
