Board of Health approves three septic system upgrades in town.

AVON — The Board of Health unanimously approved three Title 5 septic system upgrades allowing reduced setbacks and cover requirements at 1 Bruce Street, 32 Nichols Avenue, and 10-12 West High Street. Chair Jeffrey Tibnam, Clerk Ralph Jensen, and Member Michael Lawler also voted unanimously to maintain the board's current organizational structure and approved a $42,148.96 warrant. Health Agent Kathleen Washburn reported that Olu's African Market, which had faced prior violations, will now undergo quarterly inspections with closure mandated for any violations in labeling, packaging, bathrooms, sanitizing, food preparation, or receiving procedures.
The board extended an Intermunicipal Agreement deadline with Brockton from June to July regarding an illegal sewer connection at 160 Memorial Drive.
