Select Board · Meeting of February 5, 2026
Avon Select Board approves $35.3 million FY 2027 budget pending final Fire and Schools figures. Town Administrator Jonathan L. Beder presented the operating budget at 4.06 percent above FY 2026, balanced with conservative revenue projections and yielding an excess levy of $844,322.89, after the Board reduced the Salary Reserve by $25,000, trimmed Finance Committee Reserve expenses by $25,000, and cut Norfolk Agricultural expenses by $7,000.
Director of Public Works Brian Martin won authorization to deficit spend up to $125,000 on snow and ice operations, citing expenditures already exceeding the $100,000 FY 2026 budget with several winter weeks remaining. The Board also endorsed the Master Plan 2040, previously approved by the Planning Board.
