Board of Health approves septic upgrade and extends sewer-connection deadline.

Board of Health · Meeting of January 8, 2026

AVON — Board of Health unanimously approves septic upgrade and grants three-month extension on sewer resolution. Chair Jeffrey Tibnam, Clerk Ralph Jensen, and Member Michael Lawler approved a local upgrade allowing 2 Glendower Street to install a soils absorption system 15 feet from the dwelling, with a deed restriction requiring the property remain a three-bedroom house and prohibiting garbage grinder installation. The board extended the timeline for 160 Memorial Drive to finalize an Intermunicipal Agreement with Brockton and resolve an illegal sewer connection routed through a neighboring municipality since discovery over a year ago.

Olu's African Market owner Yomi Ayoola received permission to resume all food operations pending presentation of a consultant-drafted compliance plan in March. A $39,400.57 FY2026 warrant was approved.
