Avon Select Board approves pavement management and Route 28 design. The board unanimously endorsed the Pavement Management Program for 24.51 miles of town-accepted roads with an $10.84 million rehabilitation backlog, and approved a Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. contract for 25 percent design of the $12 million Route 28 reconstruction project from High Street to Robbins and Pratt Streets. In a joint meeting with Sewer Commissioners, engineers from Fuss & O'Neill presented the Merchants Park sewer project, estimated at $8,141,000 and 50 percent designed, plus the Avon Industrial Park project on a parallel timeline targeting 2027 completion.
The board designated the Planning Board as advisory committee for updating the five-year-old Avon Housing Production Plan with Old Colony Planning Council support at $7,500 cost.
