Zoning Board delays U-Haul rental permit, seeks detailed parking plan

DocumentCenter · Meeting of March 2, 2020

AVON — Zoning Board of Appeals defers U-Haul rental facility permit 30 days pending detailed site plan. Ben Pinkowitz of Avon Mill LLC sought a Special Permit to establish a "dealer program" with 4 to 6 rental vehicles at 491 West Main Street in the Industrial zone, following interest from a U-Haul area field manager who noted strong rental demand from Avon residents using out-of-town facilities. Kevin Foster, representing the Fire Department, raised concerns about fire lane access and parking capacity on the constrained site.

The board unanimously voted to continue the case for 30 days, requesting a drone photograph and detailed site plan showing parking designation, fire lanes, and loading areas.
