Planning Board approves fire station renovation with landscape plan hearing condition

Avon Planning Board unanimously approves fire station renovation project with landscape conditions. The board approved special permits for the Avon Fire Station renovation at 150 Main Street, featuring parking realignment, a new stone-faced retaining wall, and 31 paved parking spots, with contingency on a public hearing for the finalized landscape plan. Abutters, including Mr. and Mrs.

Ogilvie, raised concerns about runoff and the high water table, which project architect Jonathan Novak addressed through design specifications showing a 40 to 50 percent runoff reduction. The project is slated to begin in May 2020.
