Selectmen set January 28 for collective bargaining special meeting

Avon Board of Selectmen calls Special Town Meeting for January 28. The three-member board set January 28, 2023, for a Special Town Meeting at Avon Middle High School auditorium to consider collective bargaining settlement articles, including AFSCME. Budget Workshop meetings were scheduled for January 5, 14, and February 4.
Town Administrator Gregory S. Enos reported most departments submitted FY2024 budgets amid uncertain state revenue. The board approved four employee step increases, renewed business licenses for Avon Auto Brokers, Walmart, and Avon's Best Pizza & Grill, authorized a $50,000 minimum RFP for Central Street water tank cell antennas, and announced $54,000 in ADA grants and $150,000 for water supply study.
