Selectmen Reorganize and Approve Personnel Salary Increases

Avon Selectmen reorganize with Eric S. Beckerman as new Chairman and Jason L. Suzor, Sr. as Clerk.

The Board approved 2 percent cost-of-living adjustments for 26 non-union employees effective July 1, 2022, in two separate votes covering general staff and five employees receiving reclassifications. Pioneer Consulting Group presented a water rate study recommending increases to base fees ($100 semi-annually) and implementation of conservation-based tiered rates to eliminate the general fund subsidy by fiscal 2029. Average customer water bills would rise roughly $53 annually to $234.52 per year.
