Avon approves free Civic Center use for summer band

Avon Park and Recreation Commission approves free summer band space. The commission unanimously approved a use of space request from the Avon Memorial High School summer band group for free Monday afternoon access to the Civic Center from 3 to 4:30 p.m., beginning July 11 through August 29. The band will accommodate approximately 10 students per session and will pay for its own facilitator but will not operate at a profit.

Chairperson Daniel Hart, Commissioner Jocelyn Lyons, and Commissioner Matthew Ferro voted in favor, with Vice Chairperson Benjamin Chapman and Commissioner Marci Kovick absent.
