Avon Selectmen forward FY2023 budget with 2.3 percent increase. Town Administrator Gregory S. Enos reduced the overall spending growth from 3.7 percent after scaling departmental requests: Fire Department personnel expansion was deferred pending SAFER grant receipt; School Department growth was capped at 4.5 percent from an initial 6 percent request; and Blue Hills Regional Technical School assessment was lowered based on enrollment reductions.
The Board approved personnel salary adjustments for Health Agent Kathleen Waldron and DPW Director William Fitzgerald, authorized deficit spending for Snow and Ice Control, and accepted $925 in donations to the Council on Aging.
