Avon boards review departmental budgets with police contract impacts and DPW expansion. Board Chairman Eric S. Beckerman and Finance Committee Chair Derek Staffier presided over presentations from Police Chief Jeffrey Bukunt, who detailed IBPO Local 383 contract increases, requested fuel allowance raised to $32,400, clothing allowance to $34,088, and a new $55,481 marked cruiser.
DPW Director William A. Fitzgerald proposed three new positions including a town planner at $84,000 and a water division addition. Library Director Elise LaForge reported increased book shipping costs; Council on Aging Director Jane Carthas requested $5,000 for senior meal inflation, which Finance Committee supported.
