Avon Council on Aging Approves Emergency Cell Phone Program

Avon Council on Aging approves emergency cell phone program for seniors. The Board received 10 emergency phones from Bristol County Sheriff, National Association of TRIADS, and 911 Cell Phone Bank, capable only of calling 911 in emergencies or power outages. The town won a grant to purchase new refrigerators for the Council on Aging and Town Hall.
Director Jane Carthas announced new kitchen policies requiring all food handlers to wear gloves and restricting kitchen access to ServSafe personnel only. Avon Fire Department will present AED and CPR instruction on March 3, with mandatory attendance for all staff and board members.
