Selectmen authorize 40B housing accord, approve employee pay raises

Avon Selectmen authorize 40B housing deal with developer contributions. The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Brave Estates LLC for a 40B housing project at 188 Central Street, requiring 14 additional affordable units and $750-per-unit payments on a sliding scale. The board also approved personnel action forms for seven town employees including step increases for Treasurer/Collector Deb Morin, Town Accountant Erin Barry, and Executive Assistant Shanna Faro effective July 1, 2021, and 2% merit raises for Police Chief Jeffrey Bukunt and Deputy Police Chief Denis Linehan.
The Public Works director reported PFAS6 contamination in the town's drinking water in fall 2021 was remediated to undetectable levels following filter media replacement.
