School Committee reports expansion of in-person learning for students with disabilities

Avon School Committee reports expansion of in-person learning. Superintendent Christine Godino announced that all students with complex disabilities are attending school five days a week, with students in grades K-1 with moderate disabilities adding two half-days to their schedules. The district is organizing tutoring for English Language Learners at both Avon Middle-High School and Butler School through a North River Title III grant.
Committee Vice-Chair Anne Hagberg reported on her attendance at a Massachusetts Association of School Committees virtual meeting where resolutions on pandemic monitoring and voting age failed to achieve full committee support.
