Avon School Committee unanimously approves Type 2 fundraiser for AMHS Boosters to sell raffle tickets. Superintendent Christine Godino reported that the town has requested the district revisit its budget; a Special Town Meeting on February 20 will consider transferring $363,243.56 from the Butler parking lot stabilization fund and $150,000 from free cash for parking-lot improvements. Schools reported ongoing attendance challenges amid remote and hybrid learning, with Ralph D.
Butler School reporting 13 students absent 15 or more days and Avon Middle-High School reporting 25 students absent 5-10 days. The district received $34,237.50 from the State Coronavirus Prevention Fund for Chromebook purchases.
