Library trustees address roof leak and water damage

DocumentCenter · Meeting of February 9, 2021

Avon Library Trustees address roof damage and budget waiver. The board voted unanimously on February 9 to accept the 2019-2020 trustees report and to approve prior meeting minutes. Following extensive water damage to the Adult Non-Fiction section that rendered 38 books unsalvageable with a loss of approximately $785, Chairman Chuck Comeau committed to meeting with Greg Enos to resolve recurring roof problems.

Director Ann Fogg reported that the town must file a waiver to meet state minimum appropriation requirements, citing level-funded COVID-19 budget constraints. The library maintained January circulation of 3,229 checkouts including 545 e-books despite ongoing remote operations.
