DocumentCenter · Meeting of September 9, 2020
Avon School Committee approves handbooks and policies for reopening. Superintendent Christine Godino reported the district has hired new staff members and ordered 450 Chromebooks for students; devices are expected in October. The committee unanimously approved handbook changes for both Butler Elementary and Avon Middle-High School, the 2020-2021 School Physician Contract, and an amended Town of Avon Financial Policy Manual.
Both buildings have completed COVID-19 safety preparations including one-way hallways, plexi glass partitions, and six-foot social distancing markers. The district currently has no COVID-19 cases, and the Mayflower Athletic Conference moved all fall sports to a "fall 2" season beginning February 2021.
