School Committee approves fundraiser as district navigates COVID-19 surge

Avon School Committee approves fundraiser during pandemic operations shift. The Committee voted unanimously to approve the Boosterthon fundraiser for Ralph D. Butler Elementary School on October 7.

Superintendent Christine Godino announced the district will continue hybrid learning as Avon faces COVID-19 surge; the town was designated a red community with seven confirmed cases. Free school lunch remains available through at least December. Both schools presented 2020-2021 improvement plans focused on curriculum and early intervention as the district navigates pandemic disruptions.

The Committee also approved prior meeting minutes from September 23, 2020.
