Conservation Commission approves roadwork and building expansion

DocumentCenter · Meeting of October 8, 2020

Avon Conservation Commission approves roadwork and commercial expansion projects. The board unanimously approved a Massachusetts Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Route 24 with tree trimming and erosion controls. In a separate action, the commission approved an 18,000-square-foot commercial addition at 1 Kiddie Drive with conditions including snow removal signage and stormwater management; the project will reduce impervious area by 5,700 square feet.

The board held a hearing on railroad vegetation management by Keolis Commuter Services for 2021-2025, with concerns raised about protection of the town water supply well near the Avon-Brockton line. An application for 540 Bodwell Street was continued to the next meeting.
