Avon School Committee approves church demolition bid. The committee unanimously voted to award a $36,200 demolition contract to Bourgeois Wrecking and Excavation, Inc. for the former church property at 156 South Street, with Member Paul Chapman moving the motion. The action precedes a Special Town Meeting on February 20 that will consider two articles related to Butler School parking lot improvements.
Superintendent Christine Godino also reported the school district received $228,283.00 in new grant funding.
