Finance Committee backs articles for February special town meeting

Avon Finance Committee recommends warrant articles for February special town meeting. Finance Committee Chair Daniel Norian and five members met remotely to review six articles for the February 20 special town meeting. The committee unanimously recommended Article 3, transferring $1,012,683 from the Public Safety Building Stabilization Account for public safety building construction and Fagan Drive reconstruction, saving the town approximately $20,000 in borrowing costs.
The committee also unanimously recommended a $756.82 retro salary increase for an officer and a $363,247.56 transfer from the Butler School Parking Lot Stabilization Account. Articles 5 and 6, seeking $150,000 and $100,000 respectively from Free Cash for Butler School parking and Town Offices HVAC and roof repairs, were tabled pending additional information.
