School Committee approves anti-discrimination policy and building work

Avon school officials moved ahead with policy updates and a building project during a brief remote meeting. Superintendent Christine Godino requested unanimous approval of the updated Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy and a $38,750 contract award to Asbestos Pro Services for abatement work at the Butler School parking lot. The School Committee also authorized three fundraisers for Avon Middle and High School Boosters: Bay State Textile Bins, Avon House of Pizza, and Stop and Shop.
All actions passed unanimously, with 76 percent of families selecting hybrid instruction and 24 percent choosing remote-only learning.
