Avon Finance Committee completes reorganization with four unanimous elections. Daniel Norian was reelected Chair, Judith Leggett Vice Chair, Shannon Coffey Treasurer, and new member James Norian Secretary. Selectman Eric Beckerman briefed the committee on pandemic-related town closures: the library reopened with five-person-per-half-hour appointment capacity, the town buildings otherwise remain closed, and the Board of Selectmen will discuss further reopenings September 15.
Schools plan a September 16 hybrid reopening, state education funding is level-funded under Governor Baker's directive, town stabilization funds are strong, and a Finance Committee budget review is set for late September.
