Avon Park & Rec approves field requests, seeks new director. The Park and Recreation Committee approved two field requests at its March meeting: one from HAYSA for youth sports practices and games, with HAYSA supplying equipment for no more than two teams, and one from a resident for a birthday party baseball game at Noonan Field with a $100 refundable fee. Commissioner Dan Hart abstained from the HAYSA vote due to his board position with the organization.
In personnel matters, Chairman Ben Chapman's committee extended a conditional employment offer to a new Director position, with an anticipated appointment this month.
