Park and Recreation Board updates summer program registrations, seeks scholarship fund

AVON — Park and Recreation Commission hears summer registrations reach 76 as board tackles maintenance. The board directed Recreation Director Jennifer Mayo to contact the Town Accountant about establishing a scholarship fund for summer program participants in need. Commissioner Marci Kovick reported the Fagan shed pressure washing is complete and ready for painting; Chairman Daniel Hart will request the Department of Public Works purchase gray paint for Avon Youth Baseball to complete the work.
The board discussed tennis court repairs being evaluated by NE Sealcoating and screen and tent purchases for the summer program.
