Fire station construction advances with $319K in invoices approved

AVON — Designer Committee approves $319K in fire station construction payments. The Avon Designer Selection Committee unanimously approved invoices totaling $319,010.78 on June 2 for the apparatus building project, with payments to P&P General Contractors ($282,880.78), ACG ($24,820), and Saccoccio & Associates ($7,600). Chair Tracy Self and members Elaine Dombrosky, Alex Sinclair, and Chuck Comeau also approved seven change orders for a total of $13,178.27.
Fire Chief Robert Spurr raised concerns about attic ductwork spacing that was relocated and requested additional electrical outlets. Construction Manager Don Velozo reported the project is over budget by $2,411, with substantial completion targeted for August 3, 2021.
