DocumentCenter · Meeting of October 27, 2022
AVON — Finance Committee approves October minutes, prepares for budget season ahead. Finance Committee Chair Derek Staffier presided as the committee voted 5-0, with one abstention by Shannon Coffey, to approve the October 13 meeting minutes. Selectman Eric Beckerman reported that the Police Department has three open positions with six applicants interested in the roles.
Beckerman also noted that the Board of Assessors recently set new water rates for Avon and discussed water supply options including possible use of Massachusetts Water Resources Association water to avoid summer restrictions, though he noted MWRA rates exceed Avon's current costs. The committee is planning a recruitment flyer to be sent to approximately 1,800 town residences to promote involvement in town boards and committees.
