Avon Finance Committee readies school budget review as school district seeks 8 percent increase. The committee voted to invite the School Committee to its March 9 meeting to discuss the request amid committee concerns. Select Board member Eric Beckerman reported the town awaits Blue Hills Regional School cost estimates for Avon students, with budget numbers expected to be complete by the March 2 Select Board meeting.
The Finance Committee also considered a Department of Public Works request for a full-time project manager position, with Suzzette Waters suggesting it report to the town administrator rather than the DPW.
