DocumentCenter · Meeting of November 20, 2020
Avon Finance Committee organizes budget review process as town faces revenue shortfall. The committee assigned members as liaisons to various departments and directed all to submit level-funded budgets, excepting contractual obligations. Eric Beckerman, Selectmen, briefed members that the town is down $500,000 in anticipated local receipts, while free cash stands above $3 million.
The Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, and department heads will convene jointly to review each department's budget proposal, with a possible special town meeting in January or February to address any remaining gap.
