Finance Committee endorses special town meeting articles

DocumentCenter · Meeting of January 12, 2023

Avon Finance Committee endorses nine of 10 special town meeting articles. Derek Staffier's committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes on January 12, then recommended nine warrant articles including $1.117 million for street paving and reconstruction, $290,000 for Bartlett Street and Fagan Drive recreation areas, $75,000 for electronic signage, and funding for lead service line planning and DeMarco Park improvements through a $333,500 PARC grant. The committee voted 4-2 to withhold its recommendation on Article 2, a Police Relief Association collective bargaining agreement, because the contract's compensation remained unfinalized.

Nine articles received Finance Committee endorsement.
