Avon Finance Committee approves $30,500 in mid-year budget line item transfers. Chair Derek Staffier's committee approved $9,500 for accounting services, $1,000 for employee health procedures, and $20,000 for library roof and HVAC repairs. Finance Committee member Richard Jordan analyzed the Fire Department budget, calculating cost per incident at approximately $1,271 and calls per capita at roughly 0.29, and suggested exploring alternatives such as outsourcing ambulance services as done in Brockton and Braintree.
The Committee agreed to invite the Fire Chief to discuss the budget further.
