Finance Committee approves $25,000 technology budget transfer

DocumentCenter · Meeting of July 13, 2021

Avon Finance Committee votes unanimously to approve $25,000 technology budget transfer due to pandemic delays. Chair Daniel Norian and the four-member committee shifted $25,000 from Medical and Life Insurance Personal Services to Technology expenses, with Town Administrator Greg Enos citing delivery delays and late invoices from pandemic supply chain disruptions. The committee declined a proposed additional $15,000 transfer as unnecessary.

Committee member Richard Jordan raised separate concerns about Avon's municipal spending, noting the town spends roughly $5,000 per capita, substantially more than neighboring Canton and Stoughton at $2,700 to $3,400 as of 2017, with Avon's revenues among Norfolk County's highest at $6,223 per capita, roughly double its neighbors.
