Avon Council on Aging welcomes Carthas, approves her stipend and programs. The Council officially welcomed Director Jayne Carthas and approved her stipend following her appointment by the Board of Selectmen, while also approving additional vacation time for Louise Hardiman. The Council addressed the vacant Head Cook position, recommending a salary increase to minimum wage and outreach to culinary colleges to attract candidates.
Upcoming programming includes a Sound The Alarm meeting October 12 with Police Chief Spurr, a rescheduled Scams and Frauds presentation October 26, a flu vaccine clinic October 19, and a Norwood Theater outing November 3 to 4 for $42. Van rides will remain free through year's end.
