Council on Aging votes to investigate van radio system, schedules blinds evaluation

AVON — Council on Aging approves van radio investigation, blinds evaluation. The Avon Council on Aging voted unanimously to have Director Gene Mazzella investigate two-way radios for the council van, responding to a new state law restricting cell phone use while driving. The board also voted unanimously to schedule a field trip to evaluate a Caremark blinds system to address glare issues in the COA building.
Director Mazzella also reported the council's cook sustained an arm injury, prompting menu adjustments to accommodate limited kitchen duties. The council approved a level budget with only contractual changes.
