Council on Aging requests pay floor for van drivers, director compensation

Avon Council on Aging proposes minimum pay policy for van drivers. The board voted to request a two-hour minimum compensation for van drivers on cancelled rides, after surveying neighboring communities where some pay up to four hours. The board also approved separate letters to the Board of Selectmen requesting additional vacation time for employee Louise Hardiman and back-pay compensation for Interim Director Jayne Carthas for pre-appointment work, which a town labor attorney had verbally approved.
