Council on Aging discusses fall programs and dementia initiative

Avon Council on Aging plans fall programming and dementia-friendly initiative. Director Fane Carthas reported facility improvements including newly installed security system and strong attendance at recent programs, including an Encore trip and Beatles Music presentation. The Council will launch a Dementia Friendly Program featuring training for police and fire departments and establish a Senior Tax Work Off Program in coordination with Finance Committee liaison Greg Enos.
Fall activities include a September 22 Norwood Theater trip, September 29 cookout at Fish and Game with COA van transportation, and Turkey Train outing in mid-to-late October.
