Board approves three septic upgrades with deed restrictions

DocumentCenter · Meeting of September 8, 2022

Avon Board of Health approves three septic system upgrades with deed restrictions. Chairman Ralph Jensen and the Board of Health unanimously approved local upgrade requests for properties at 4 Argyle Avenue, 45 Oliver Street, and 250 West Main Street, each allowing reduced setbacks and vertical separations from State Sanitary Code standards. All three approvals required deed restrictions limiting properties to three-bedroom dwellings and prohibiting garbage disposals to protect groundwater.

The board directed Health Agent Kathleen Waldron to follow up with the owner of 7 Nichols Avenue, whose septic system failed Title 5 inspection in May 2021 and remains unreplaced.
