Committee approves AFSCME negotiations as schools report zero COVID cases

DocumentCenter · Meeting of October 21, 2020

Avon School Committee approves labor negotiations with AFSCME as schools report no COVID cases. The Committee unanimously authorized Superintendent Christine Godino to enter AFSCME negotiations and appointed Vice-Chair Anne Hagberg as delegate to the November Massachusetts Association of School Committees and Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators state conference, with Member Paul Chapman as alternate. Godino reported zero confirmed COVID-19 cases in schools despite seven cases town-wide; universal free meals have been extended through June 30, 2021, available for weekday pickup.

An executive session is scheduled for October 26 to discuss AFSCME strategy.
