Board of Health approves Republic Services trash contract

Avon Board of Health votes to switch trash haulers to Republic Services. The board voted unanimously on June 24 to rescind its award to Waste Management and accept a three-year Republic Services contract for weekly trash pickup, biweekly recycling pickup, and quarterly bulk collections in year one, with continuation options in years two and three. Chairman Robert Ogilvie, Clerk Ralph Jensen, and Board Member Peter Marinelli approved the decision.

The board also unanimously adopted new fee structures for trash, recycling, and bulk collection services.
