Board of Health approves bylaw changes

Avon Health Board approves nomenclature changes to bylaws as tobacco sales violations come before board. The Board of Health unanimously voted, per Clerk Robert Ogilvie's motion seconded by Member Peter Marinelli, to update Chapter 300 bylaws, changing "Chairman" to "Chair" in alignment with recent town nomenclature updates. Waldron presented two tobacco sales violations for enforcement action: the establishment at 284 East Main Street faces a recommended $2,000 fine and seven-day suspension for its second violation within a year, while the establishment at 85 East Main Street, with its fourth violation in one year, faces permanent permit revocation per a prior December warning. Both enforcement cases were tabled to the March 9 meeting.
