Avon Library Board hears after-school crowding report
DocumentCenter · Meeting of February 14, 2023
Avon Library Board addresses crowding, weighs service additions. Library Director Elise LaForge reported that on January 11, when Avon Middle-High School held a half-day, over 65 students signed into the library between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with peak crowding from 1 to 3 p.m. making regular operations difficult. LaForge is considering closing the library early on the next school half-day, March 10.
The board reviewed a recommendation to contract with Citron Hygiene to provide period products in the upstairs bathroom at approximately $56 monthly and discussed hiring a space planner or interior designer to optimize current facilities.
