AVON — Board of Selectmen approves fire station contractor, town meeting warrants in joint workshop. The board voted unanimously to award the Fire Station Renovation Project contract to P&P General Contractors, Inc., and cleared a Tax Increment Financing agreement with Karas Glass Company for submission to Town Meeting, requiring the company to create jobs and prioritize Avon residents for employment. In a nod to Governor Baker's Phase Two reopening plan, the Selectmen approved outdoor dining permits for restaurants and authorized reopening of town parks and playgrounds.
DPW Director William Fitzgerald won board approval to award Bartlett and Brillion a $26,500 contract for chlorine feed system replacement at the Guilbault Memorial Filtration Plant. Both the Finance Committee and Board of Selectmen approved warrants for special and annual town meetings on June 29.
