AVON — Board authorizes water infrastructure project using $1.2M in federal funding. The board approved appointments of Therese Hickey as Assistant Treasurer, Sharon Simon as Administrative Assistant, and Eric Ficarra as Highway Laborer. The board awarded the snowplowing contract to T.L.
Edwards, citing increased fuel costs and driver shortages for rates now set at $250 per hour for large loaders, $225 per hour for loaders, and $150 per hour for plow vehicles. The board authorized Town Administrator Gregory S. Enos and DPW Director William A.
Fitzgerald to proceed with bidding for plastic water pipe replacement on six streets using $1.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds, with project costs estimated at $1.24 million to $1.75 million.
