Avon Housing Authority approves state-required policies

AVON — The Avon Housing Authority unanimously approved three state-required policies at its September 13 meeting. Executive Director Sherry Guilbault reported the Authority currently has 10 vacancies with another anticipated by month's end. The board voted 4-0 to approve the Language Access Plan/Policy, Reasonable Accommodation/Modification Policy, and Fair Housing Marketing Plan/Policy.
CHAMP procedures are underway to fill seven elderly units and four non-elderly units to reach the 13.5% non-elderly population threshold, with two waiting lists already pulled for elderly units and two additional lists to be pulled for non-elderly units.
