Avon School Committee approves 6 percent FY23 budget increase

Avon School Committee unanimously approves 6 percent increase to FY23 budget. The committee voted to back the spending plan at its December 15 meeting, according to official minutes. Superintendent Christine Godino reported 16 student COVID cases in the week ending December 15, with six at Avon Middle-High School and ten at Butler Elementary.

The committee received presentations on Social and Emotional Learning from Principal Dawn Stockwell of the Middle-High School and Principal Sarah Shaw of Butler Elementary, which employ tiered systems of support reaching varying percentages of the student body.
