Avon library board seeks $20K for building improvements

Avon library board seeks $20,000 capital article for weatherproofing and drainage work. Library Director Elise LaForge and the board voted to submit the article for Town Meeting on May 3, funding basement weatherproofing, landscape regrading, a new basement door, and roof drainage improvements. The board also voted to close the library on Saturdays from June 25 to September 10, reopening September 10, to maintain staffing levels during summer.

A septic tank replacement was completed on March 18, addressing facility maintenance needs.
