Special Town Meeting approves $1.6 million in transfers and repairs

AVON — Special Town Meeting in Avon authorizes $1.6 million in transfers for facilities and repairs. Held February 20 with 42 voters, the meeting under Moderator Frank Staffier approved Article 3's transfer of $1,012,683 from Public Safety Building Stabilization to Public Safety Construction, and combined Articles 4 and 5 allocating $513,957.07 toward Ralph D. Butler School parking lot rehabilitation.
The meeting also funded $100,000 in HVAC and roof repairs for Avon Town Offices. U.S. Senator Walter Timilty and Congressman Stephen Lynch addressed attendees on pandemic relief and local aid.
