Park and Recreation approves spring egg scavenger hunt

Avon Park and Recreation Commission approves spring programs and field permit. The commission unanimously approved a $150 budget for spring events, including an egg scavenger hunt running March 21 through April 2, with winners announced April 3. Commissioners Daniel Hart, Benjamin Chapman, Marci Kovick, and Jocelyn Lyons voted 3-0-1 in favor of a field permit for the Dirt Dawgs women's softball team for Monday and Wednesday evenings June through September, with Avon Youth Baseball retaining field priority.

Program Director Jennifer Mayo reported strong turnout for recent online programming, including sold-out cookie and pottery kits and a well-attended virtual Joe's Crazzy Critters show.
